Dart Barrels for Steel Tip and Soft Tip Darts
Discover dart barrels as replacement parts or for building your own dart setup. The barrel is the central gripping section of a dart and has a major influence on weight, balance, grip and feel. Barrels for steel tip and soft tip darts are available in different shapes, materials and designs.
When choosing a barrel, important factors include weight, length, diameter, shape and grip. The position of the centre of gravity also affects how the dart behaves during the throw. Depending on your grip position and throwing style, different barrel shapes may therefore be more suitable.
Barrel material is another important factor. Tungsten barrels are particularly common for heavier darts because tungsten has a high density, allowing relatively slim barrels to achieve a higher weight. Other materials are also available, offering different characteristics and price points.
The surface and grip of the barrel are equally important for the feel of the dart. Depending on the design, grooves, rings, coatings and other machining techniques can provide different levels of grip. When buying replacement barrels, also make sure they are compatible with your shafts, points and intended dart system.
